Pain is often caused by minor damage to the ligaments and muscles which may occur from sitting or standing in the wrong position, straining the muscles when lifting or twisting, or from being overweight. Pain may also be due to disease or injury and there are plenty of other medical causes of pain. Whatever the cause, pain produces movement patterns that aim to protect the injured part. However if they persist they can become poor movement habits that themselves cause chronic pain and problems.

We enable the brain to experience gentle, comfortable and new ways of moving so that you then have a chance of regaining normal movement and obtaining effective pain relief. We look at the person as a whole not just the knee pain, back pain, ankle injury etc. and our goal is always to address the underlying causes, not simply hide your symptoms.

Most of our clients experience some pain relief almost immediately although it can take several sessions sometimes more, for more severe conditions to clear, everyone learns and recovers at their own pace. Factors that can affect the learning process include your age, overall health condition, diet and even your attitude.
