Alongside regular weekly or fortnightly appointments for clients across Somerset, Bristol, Bath, Wells, and Taunton, we offer multi-day movement intensives—including the option of bespoke residential intensives—in our peaceful Somerset village setting of Lympsham for individuals, couples, and families travelling from London, across the UK, or further afield.
Why Choose a Multi-Day Movement Intensive?
In a standard weekly schedule, your nervous system receives a lesson and then returns immediately to seven days of familiar daily demands. During a multi-day intensive block—typically structured as two one-to-one lessons per day (morning and afternoon) over three to five consecutive days—each session builds directly on the neuroplastic changes of the previous one before old habits can reassert themselves.
Two Permanent Practitioners Working Together
Unlike visiting-practitioner pop-up clinics, Doreen Quinnell and Chris Norris work together permanently here in Somerset. During an intensive, you or your child benefit from both practitioners’ perspectives and, where helpful, joint two-practitioner sessions.
Ideal for Children with Additional Needs & Families
Families travelling with a child with additional or developmental needs—including cerebral palsy, brain injury, genetic conditions, or neurodivergent children (autism, ADHD, and coordination differences)—often find that a concentrated 3-to-5-day block of gentle Functional Synthesis and Functional Integration lessons sparks clear developmental leaps in posture, balance, calm, and engagement. Both Doreen and Chris hold clear Enhanced DBS Disclosures (verified via PeopleCheck).
Breakthroughs for Chronic Pain, Stroke & High Performers
Adults recovering from a stroke, long-standing back or neck pain, complex injury, or performance plateaus can immerse themselves in deep neuromuscular reorganisation away from everyday work pressures.
Peaceful Somerset Village Setting: Bespoke Residential Intensives in Lympsham
We live and practise in a spacious five-bedroom house in the peaceful Somerset village of Lympsham, surrounded by quiet Somerset countryside near Brent Knoll, the Somerset Levels, and the Mendip Hills. When we previously practised in London, clients and families who lived outside the capital would travel to stay for concentrated blocks; today, clients from our London days—as well as new clients and families from across the UK—come down to Lympsham for a calm, restorative residential intensive.
Because our home offers generous guest space in a quiet rural village setting, we can by arrangement accommodate an individual, a couple, or a family with a child (or multiple children) for a residential intensive. Staying on site means:
- Zero daily travel stress for children or recovering adults — there is no packing into a car or navigating busy town traffic or hotels before and after lessons.
- Restorative rest in a peaceful Somerset village setting — much of the brain’s neuroplastic consolidation happens during quiet rest and sleep immediately following a gentle movement lesson.
- Supportive guidance woven into natural family routines — for parents of children with additional needs, we can show you comfortable, practical ways to hold, carry, feed, and play with your child in a relaxed home environment, with the reassurance that both practitioners are Enhanced DBS checked (verified via PeopleCheck).
Please note: Residential intensives are arranged entirely on a bespoke, personal basis following an initial telephone consultation to make sure the timing and household setup suit your family’s needs. Prefer to stay nearby? There is also a wide choice of country cottages, farm stays, and self-catering accommodation within a few minutes’ drive of Lympsham.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions are included in a typical multi-day intensive?
Most clients and families book between 3 and 5 consecutive days, with two 45-minute sessions per day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon after a good rest), working with both Doreen Quinnell and Chris Norris. However, every intensive is tailored to the age, stamina, and needs of the adult or child.
How do bespoke residential intensives in your home work?
We live and practise in a large five-bedroom house in the peaceful Somerset village of Lympsham. By prior discussion and arrangement, we can accommodate an individual, a couple, or a family with one or more children so that you can stay comfortably on site throughout your intensive without daily travel between lessons.
Is Lympsham easy to reach from London, Bristol Airport, and the M5?
Yes. Our village of Lympsham is only 9 minutes from the M5 motorway, 15 minutes from local mainline railway stations (with direct GWR trains from London Paddington in just over two hours), around 25–30 minutes from Bristol Airport, and within easy reach of Bristol, Bath, Wells, and Taunton.
